Background
Many years I have been suffering from pre-diabetes, high cholesterol, psoriasis, gingivitis, and childhood asthma. I was very upset about the regular visits to the doctor’s office, medical labs, and piles of medicine I had to take every day. I started developing severe depression and anxiety in 2009. I decided to change my life by practicing YOGA, Pranayam, Yoga Nidra, and Meditation to get out of the medical conditions.
I began learning YOGA in 2010 from Guru Ram, a YOGA teacher from the Bihar School of YOGA. Two years of regular yoga practices under his guidance helped me to reduce medication. When Guru Ram decided to go back to India, he advised me to share my YOGA practices with community members in Durga Temple and he insisted teaching is 10 times learning.
Since 2015 I have been teaching Yoga Asana, Pranayama, Meditation, and Yoga Nidra at Durga Temple every Sat and Sun from 7 am to 9 am. Guru Ram also instructed me to learn Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali Yoga sutra, and other Upanishads to understand deeper aspects of YOGA. I spend many years on the dedicated study of scriptures under many acharyas of Chinmaya Mission, Arsha Vidya Gurukulam, Vedanta Centers, Center for Inner Resources Development, and Integral Yoga Institute.
After the consultation with my doctor, I started reducing my medicine intake and I completely stopped all medication in 2012. I am now completely out of all medication and all my medical conditions are very much under control. This is my success story of transformation in my life through YOGA.
